All Kinds of Blue takes its title from Kind of Blue by Miles Davis, the seminal album that marked a radical shift in the history of jazz through its embrace of modality. Moving away from the rigid chord progressions of hard bop, Davis introduced a structure based on scales and tonal frameworks, o!ering musicians a "eld of possibility rather than a predetermined path. All Kinds of Blue adopts a similar approach. Rather than organizing works through strict thematic or formal categories, the exhibition unfolds within a shared chromatic "eld centered around blue. Here, colour operates not as a constraint, but as a generative structure: a #exible framework within which each work can articulate its own rhythm, atmosphere, and emotional register. Much like modal jazz, where a limited number of scales can generate in"nite melodic variations, the exhibition explores how a single colour can expand into multiple meanings. Blue emerges as spiritual and melancholic, technological and atmospheric, intimate and distant, natural and arti"cial. Never singular, it continuously shifts according to context, material, and perception. The works on view, ranging from Andy Warhol’s iconic images to process-based practices engaging with ink, printmaking, painting, and light, navigate this chromatic territory in distinct ways. Blue becomes surface and depth, memory and suspension; it evokes the night, the sea, the in"nite, and the unattainable. Within this "eld, the introduction of red functions as a deliberate counterpoint. Used sparingly, it recalibrates perception through contrast and visual tension. Beyond its formal role, this chromatic opposition also gestures toward systems of recognition and desire embedded within visual culture, from heraldry

Andy Warhol abstract: Andy Warhol changed the way we look at the world, and the way the world looks at art. With his exhaustive observation of cultural trends, from his rise to Pop art fame in the early 1960s up until his death in 1987, he identified the images and aesthetics shaping the consumer-driven postwar American experience, and transformed what he saw into a sophisticated yet accessible body of work. He invented new ways of image making, vastly expanding what was considered fine art, and also a new kind of artist, one who merged art and life, and treated painting, photography, filmmaking, writing, publishing, advertising, branding, performance, video, television, digital media—and even his own persona—as equally valid terrain for creative experimentation. Often lost in his own celebrity and myth is the fact that he is widely considered one of the most important postwar artists of the 20th century.

Piero Manzoni abstract: Piero Manzoni’s brief career was one of the most radically inventive of the twentieth century, producing a body of work that continues to challenge the definitions of artistic sovereignty and virtuosity. Piero Manzoni was born in 1933 in Soncino, Italy, and died in 1963 in Milan, Italy. His work has been the subject of numerous international exhibitions, including Herning Kunstmuseum, Germany (1991); Musée d'art Moderne de la Ville de Paris, France (1991); Castello di Rivoli—Museo d’Arte Contemporanea, Italy (1992); “Linee,” Palazzo delle Esposizioni, Rome (1995); “Line Drawings,” Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (1995); “Milano et mitologia,” Palazzo Reale, Milan (1997); MADRE Museum, Italy (2008); “When Bodies Became Art,” Stadel Museum, Germany (2013); Palazzo Reale, Italy (2014); and Museu de Arte Moderna, Brazil (2015).

Giorgio Morandi abstract: Known in particular for his creations composed of bottles and simple everyday objects, Giorgio Morandi (Bologna, 1890-1964) is one of the most recognizable and at the same time most enigmatic painters of the twentieth century. His ability to investigate a few selected objects is so meticulous and obsessive that it can appear repetitive, but to the eye of the attentive observer it reveals an extraordinary expressive capacity and an unparalleled depth of investigation. This monographic catalogue, offers an accurate examination of the master's production through a selection of paintings, watercolours, drawings and engravings which allow us to appreciate Morandi's exceptional subtlety in rendering light, volumes and atmospheric qualities in different techniques he used with great sensitivity. In addition to the famous still lifes, some landscapes, flower compositions and his most important self-portrait are documented. Some works by contemporary artists are also presented, as a tribute to a pioneer and master for numerous generations. The volume is completed by a biography of the artist and bibliographical apparatus.

Mario Schifano abstract: It was in that period that he painted the anaemic landscapes, where the natural world was transferred on the thread of memory trough fragments, details and allusive writings. The artist worked by thematic cycles and by the end of 1964 he marked the interest towards the re visitation of the history of art, which the following year would have brought him to those famous artworks dedicated to Futurism. In 1965 he exhibited at the Biennial in San Marino and in San Paolo in Brazil. He was also the author of some underground movies. At the beginning of the ’70s Schifano started to reproduce some TV-images directly on emulsified canvas, setting them apart from the narrative rhythm they belonged to and re proposing them with some touches of nitre colours. The TV-image was fatuous, evanescent and immaterial, of quick use. When it was transferred on canvas and it was transformed by the artist, who in the meanwhile had assimilated it, it acquired a stable value and other meaning. After a long period in which Schifano was contented between ideological and existential fears, that of course would have influenced his creative talent and brought him far from the artistic scene, he will took interest in painting towards the end of the ‘70s. He was invited to several exhibitions, like the Biennial of Venice in 1982 and 1984. This was the period of his landscapes, his water-lilies, his cornfields, the movements of sea, the extents of sand re-created trough memories and sensations.
