| Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale including The Analytical Eye: The Branco Weiss Collection |
Our Evening sale will offer a number of important works, from Claude Monet’s stunning oil painting of Venice, Le Palais Contarini to Piet Mondrian’s iconic abstract Composition in Red, Yellow and Blue from 1927, as well as an outstanding oil by Pablo Picasso, Le Peintre.
The sale also includes two exceptional collections, The Analytical Eye: The Branco Weiss collection of twenty-eight paintings, sculptures and works on paper by modern masters including Magritte, Calder, Kandinsky and Schwitters, and a group of works on paper by Pablo Picasso from the collection of the late Stanley J. Seeger, with remarkable examples spanning the artist’s long career. |

| The sale features a rare example of Joan Miró’s whimsical early 1920s Surrealism and a beautifully understated Cubist still life collage by Maria Blanchard. Impressionist works include a remarkably bright Sisley riverscape pastel and a dramatic beach scene by Monet. There are also rich offerings from Kandinsky, Nolde, Chagall, Picasso and Matisse, as well as a rare group of drawings by Amedeo Modigliani from the family of the artist’s great patron Paul Alexandre. |

The latter is led by exquisite examples by two of the great women artists of the early 20th century: a beautiful portrait by Berthe Morisot and a striking still life by Gabriele Münter. |
